Silvan Scholarships
The charity was established in 2023 to provide financial support to at-risk students who, due to financial or family-related pressures, may be at risk of dropping out of secondary school. Scholarships are to the value of $3000
Funding is intended to be flexible; the student generally works with the school to decide how the funding might best be spent, with the school ensuring that the funds are spent on an appropriate activity.
Expenditure includes:
- Resource books or eBooks
- Art supplies
- IT such as a laptop, software, home printer
- Tutoring
- Specialist equipment for use in chosen school courses (e.g., camera, graphic set, musical instrument, calculator); specialist equipment for use in chosen vocational courses (e.g., tools, personal protective equipment)
- School and specialist uniforms
- Fees for extra-curricular activities such as school excursions or camps;
- Annual public transport passes to get to school or job placements;
- Furniture to support study (e.g., desk, ergonomic chair); support with rental, utilities or home internet costs.
Page Scholarship
The Page Scholarship is a historic award as a result of a generous local benefactor. It is presented annually as encouragement to a senior school student (in years 10 or 11) who has the potential to proceed through to Year 12 and beyond.
