Captain Application Process
The selection process for College Captains, Vice Captains, and Middle School Leaders begins early in Term 4 and follows a structured approach to ensure the best candidates are chosen to represent the school. Here’s an overview of the steps:
- Written Application
Students interested in applying for a College Captain (Year 12 the following year), College Vice-Captain (Years 11 & 12 the following year), or Middle School Leader (Year 9 the following year) role must first submit a written application. Applicants are required to answer specific questions as the first step in the process. - Speeches at Sub-School Assembly
After submitting their applications, students will be asked to prepare a speech (with provided guidelines) and deliver it at their respective sub-school assemblies (Middle or Senior School). - Voting
Immediately following the speeches, students in each sub-school will participate in preferential voting to select their preferred candidates. - Interviews
Candidates who progress will attend an interview with a member of the Principal team, their sub-school Director, and the Student Voice Leader. - Decision and Notification
The selection panel, consisting of the Principal team member, sub-school Director, and Student Voice Leader, will consider votes, speeches, written applications, and interview performance to make their decision. All candidates will be informed of the outcome in individual meetings. - Leader Presentation
Successful candidates will be presented as captains and leaders at the relevant sub-school assemblies, with formal badge presentations taking place during the Secondary College Awards Night.
This comprehensive process ensures that the best candidates are selected to lead and inspire their peers.
