Doctors in Schools Program

Access to Health Care at School

Boronia K-12 College, in partnership with Headspace Knox Youth Clinic, is committed to ensuring our students have access to essential health care services. Through the Doctors in Schools Program, general practitioners (GPs) provide medical advice and health care to students in need, up to one day a week.

Program Objectives

  • Accessibility: Making primary health care more accessible to students.
  • Early Intervention: Assisting young people in identifying and addressing health problems early.
  • Support for Families: Reducing the pressure on working parents.

Services Provided

Our on-site Nurse and GP operate a youth clinic at the college, offering services like a regular GP clinic. These services are bulk-billed through Medicare and include:

  • General Check-Ups: Height, weight, blood pressure, etc.
  • Health Concerns: Sleep, eating, or mental health issues.
  • Asthma and Anaphylaxis Plans: Creation and management as needed.
  • Developmental Questions: Addressing any concerns regarding student development.

How to Make an Appointment

Appointments can be made through the HotDoc website. Alternatively, you can visit the clinic on Mondays from 9 am to 1 pm or speak to a member of the Wellbeing Team.

We Are Here to Help
